Pasture Raised Organic Eggs
What is Pastured? Pastured or pasture-raised… Our hens are Raised in Pasture and then they live in pasture throughout their laying cycle. Leading brands that label their eggs pasture raised do not raise their hens in pasture nor do the hens live in pasture. We sometimes refer to our eggs as Honest Pasture Raised because it’s true. Our hens are treated humanely, and are allowed to fully express their nature as chickens because they can scratch in the earth for worms, bugs, and grubs to satisfy their natural need for animal protein. Other behaviors that pastured chickens are afforded is the ability to take dust baths to keep themselves clean, to socialize with their flock in uncrowded conditions, and to have fresh clean air to breathe and healthy sunshine for optimal health.
World’s Best Eggs. Jeremiah Cunningham’s “World’s Best Eggs” is not a brag, it is more of a classification. Some of your grandparents or great-grandparents also produced eggs that were in a class of World’s Best Eggs because they lived outside and had non-chemically produced food.
Because our hens forage in our nutrient-dense pasture all day, about 30% of their diet comes from the green pasture plants and insects. This makes our eggs extremely nutrient-dense, higher in Omega-3 fatty acids, and lower in cholesterol than eggs produced in confined conditions. To supplement our hens' wild diet, we mill organic feed for them on-site here at Coyote Creek Organic Feed Mill & Farm. Our feed is USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified, and it never contains herbicides, pesticides, animal by-products, hormones, or pharmaceuticals.
